Rising from Clingmans Dome in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park Tour, the observation tower and 375 feet long spiral ramp might remind you of a ufo taking off.
It’s a steep 1.2 mile trail to the summit but has lots of rest (I mean appreciation) benches along the way. You’ll be rewarded with views above the treetops that stretch for 100 miles on clear days. At 6,643 feet, you can see 7 states from the top on a perfect day.
