Waterton Lakes National Park is open year round, although from November to April most facilities in the townsite are closed.

From the eastern end of the Going to the Sun Road in Glacier National Park (St Mary or Babb), the Chief Mountain border crossing is best. That’s Highway 17 on the US side, Highway 6 on the Canadian side.
