Driving the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail’s scenic 6-mile loop in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park Tour is a short drive from the hustle of Gatlinburg and a wonderful way to spend a couple of hours, passing historic cabins and some of the park’s best waterfalls.
Grotto Falls is one of the most popular, and the only one where the trail actually passes behind the waterfall. Time it right and you may be lucky enough to see the llamas hauling supplies to LeConte Lodge.
