No, same day reservations are not available. Reservations must be made 1 day in advance.
Typically, most people who are making “normal” sightseeing stops along the Road to Hana will arrive 3-4 hours after leaving Paia. ie. If you are starting out from Paia around 8am, you should arrive between 11am and 12noon. If starting out a little later, the 12.30 – 3pm booking slot will be a better option. Expect to spend about 1 hour at Wai’anapanapa to enjoy all the sights. Adding 30 minutes will give you extra time to walk on the coastal trail.
You are about 4 miles from Hana (+10 mins) and another 13 miles (+60 mins) onto Oheo Gulch (Seven Sacred Pools).
Backup option if you can’t get your preferred time. Drive on to Oheo Gulch (Seven Sacred Pools) at the end of the Road to Hana by ~2pm and be back at Wai’anapanapa for 3pm.
Keep in mind that it takes approximately 1 hour to drive from resort areas like Kihei and Ka’anapali to Paia, the first town on the Road to Hana.
If you are staying overnight in Hana, you’ll have flexibility to return and late or earning morning on your return trip.
You have 2.5 hours before you exit the carpark – or have purchased multiple time allotments.
