Discover the thundering beauty of Kings Creek Falls, a picturesque cascade tumbling approximately 40 feet over a rugged volcanic cliff. The scenic trail to the falls, typically a moderate 2.3-mile loop, winds through serene forests and lush meadows, following the creek as it gathers momentum. Several viewpoints, including an overlook near the precipice, offer fantastic perspectives of the rushing water and the mist-filled canyon below. The journey itself is a delight, showcasing the diverse ecosystems of Lassen, and culminating in the rewarding sight and sound of this impressive waterfall – a perfect spot for reflection and photography.

This stunning lake, formed by a rock avalanche from Chaos Crags, offers crystal-clear waters perfect for kayaking (rentals often available) or a leisurely stroll along its 1.8-mile perimeter trail. The true magic happens when Lassen Peak, the park’s majestic namesake, reflects flawlessly on the lake’s calm surface – a photographer’s dream. Nearby, the aptly named Reflection Lake provides an even more intimate setting for capturing those picture-perfect moments of Lassen Peak and Chaos Crags mirrored in its glassy waters, especially during calm mornings or evenings.
